the kids are alright

At lunch today I went to Blimpies by myself (as is quite common with me on my lunch hour) and the first thing I noticed was a group of 10-12 high school seniors sitting together eating.

Oh great! I thought to myself.

The thought of having to sit next to this group was something I wasn't looking forward to. As I got my meal and sat down at the far end of the area I looked around and noticed everyone else eating had this unpleasant feeling amongst themselves having to sit around these kids.

I started to feel old. Didn't we all try to convince ourselves when we were younger that we were more open minded than our generation before us and wouldn't look down on anyone before getting to know them? And here I was doing the very same thing like a hypocrite.

In actuality, other than being a little loud, they were just fine. They even rearranged the tables they pushed together after they were finished and left without leaving a mess.

I know next time I'll give the youth a little more credit.

damn you ticketmaster!!

Tiger World Series tickets had gone on sale this morning at 10am.

I dont really have the money to go to any of the games but figured I would at least TRY to get tickets to see if I can't turn a hefty profit on them.

My wait time of 2 minutes last 45 minutes before I finally gave up. My co-worker however was able to buy 2 tickets to game 2. Jealous? not really though I can't say the same for other people.

The way I figure it, for $190 (the price PER ticket) I could sit in a bar for the whole series with a better view not freezing my ass off and still have money left.

Oh well, Lets go Tigers!

PS: nice touch by tigers.com sending an email at 10:35am to let us know that world series tickets were on sale when they probably all sold out in under 10 minutes.

so much for autumn

Nature has decided it's had enough of Autumn and decided to dump snow on us.

Wonderful!

I've already seen a few streetlights out of service. This ought to be interesting as the day goes on.

we report, you decide

Okay, thats from Fox News but this could almost be considered as dumb as that "news network"

From CNN.com right now

Thank goodness CNN is giving us the stories that matter most.

/sarcasm

As of the time I voted it was

Men 3352 votes 46%
Women 3938 votes 54%

This is why I only trust my news from NPR.

bah....

Not to much to talk about. I'm really only making a post just for the sake of having something new to look at.

We're less that 30 days away from election day and I thought I'd be happier about it than I really am. The election will be over but the madness wont stop. February is another state convention and then shortly after that we'll be gearing up for presidential election 2008.

I hope to god I'm not here for much longer, I'm already about to have a nervous breakdown out thinking about whats ahead of me.

I need to relax though, one day at a time.

Better posts later.
